All,

I just heard from Wil Bischof - Chris' son and navigator. As you can see from the photos, the car was un-repairable and was scrapped just a couple of weeks ago.

Both Wil and Chris sustained significant, but not life-threatening injuries in the accident, but have recovered, and are now back to normal life.

I was there that day and racing in the same event. My dash cam caught the skid marks on the road where the car slid and then went airborne. It was a very difficult day for all of us, most especially the Bishof family.

Wil told me to let everyone know that they are doing okay.

Thanks for the update. Really glad to hear they are ok.

Bill, I'll echo the thanks for the update! think you may have set a record for the most likes in a single post!

let chris know there's alot of people here that are glad that they're okay! he's a wealth of knowledge, and seems to be a great guy, and as you can tell, he's been missed!

He was/is the king of G body, high speed worship. I don't know if the crash scared him, he's embarrassed for totalling an Aero, or what. I(we) just want to know what happened. I respect his successes and failure, but as detailed as his posts were, I need to know what happened. I don't care if it was driver error; that's racing.
I'm glad they're okay, and just hope he gets back on the horse..

I hope Chris does make it back to the forum. He had an awsome car and I have thought he may be embarrassed about the car being wrecked. I can speak from experience it can be humbling to put a race car on the track and it comes back to the pits on the back of a wrecker.

I was there, that day. The Bischofs were in a faster class than my son and me so they were many cars behind us. We heard that something happened when they closed the course to find them. I have a lot of respect for Chris and his driving record. He’s good. And his 2+2 was well sorted out. Whatever happened is not really our business unless Chris decides to share.

I was not in the car. I don’t know the details. What I do know is that they left the road at a high rate of speed and were located on the far side of two undamaged fences. They got a lot of air and rolled/flipped several times. I’m certain it was traumatic and that their safety equipment saved their lives. DON’T CUT CORNERS ON SAFETY!

My dash cam footage of our southbound run shows the skid marks so I know where they left the pavement. It’s eerie every time I watch it.

My advice is to give Chris some space and time. We now all know that he is okay. I do know I would have been pretty traumatized had it been my son and me.

He’s a good guy. We owe him some space.
