Looking at buying a complete control arm kit for my rear end to gain better traction. Once in a while I do get a little wheel hop and figure its time to upgrade rear suspension. One set has round tube LCA's while the other is squared style tube and both styles have provisions for the sway bar so I can keep the stock one.

Is there a difference in rigidity and which is a better style? Any other input is appreciated.

Re: Round vs. Squared LCA's

I don't think there will be that much difference between the two. But I would urge you to spend the extra money to get adjustable(double adjustable if you can) uppers.

Why's that? I honestly don't wanna screw with adjustable control arms.

Because if your ride is dropped than you could adjust you pinion angle.i would also invest in getting some with a articulating Heim joint to allow some movement in the suspension as well.

Re: Round vs. Squared LCA's

Its dropped in the front, not in the rear. I've seen those that do have the articulating heim and it is a good idea. Not sure if I would go with a set like that though. The prices on those are higher than the adjustable ones.

So where are our cars pinion angle set at? Or is it all over the place with each car? I may end up getting adjustable uppers just to set the angle but leave the lower control arms fixed (non-adjustable). Is going with adjustable uppers worth it?

And how do they work? Does the longer you increase the length of an adjustable upper control arm cause the tires to be pushed down preventing wheel hop? Simply meaning the higher the angle of the pinion is, the more traction as a result? Or is it the other way around?

pinion angle has nothing to do with wheel hop...for the street 0* is common so there is no vibration and for drag racing a -2 to -4 setting...shocks deal with the wheel hop

if ya wanna get rid of wheel hop get some traction bars.
