Hey G-BodyForum,

My 84 has it's stock suspension under it and I am looking to upgrade her a bit. I'm not going for autocross, I'm not drag racing. It's just a weekend cruiser with a beefed up SB355. I have been looking into UMI, but does anyone else have any input? Remember, just a simple upgrade to the current technology.

Thank you all

since it all stock I would first be looking at the body bushings and control arm bushings to see if they need to be replaced before I upgraded anything else..

X2 with what pontiacgp said. If your still wanting suspension parts I highly recommend UMI great guys to do business with.

Undoubtedly most everything will need replaced. I know I need new body bushings, as they're completely shot. I want to replace all components this fall/winter.

That will be a good project over the winter months. It may help if you spray the bolts and nuts with a good penetrating oil a few times over a few days before you begin

I'm a little hesitant to dive in. I will save the body bushing part for when I have someone experienced in that to help me. If anyone in Cleveland reads this and can lend a hand, I'll provide all food and beer 😉

But yes, regarding the suspension, it all seems like take out the old, and bolt in the new, is this, in a nutshell, all that it takes to replace the rear suspension?
