Hey guys.

I got my GP a week or so ago. When I did, I knew the drivers door was all messed up. The problem? It's difficult to open and close becasue it sits wrong, and it also can't be opened using the outside door handle. You have to use the inside one. I hear the door handle issue can be easily corrected. I just need inside the door. And I really don't know what the fit issue is with the door. It was previously replaced, but it was from another G body GP. I don't know if the year is off, but they wouldn't change the size of the door...

So I was trying to find out:

1. How do I get inside the door through removing the door panel?

2. What do I look for to fix the handle in the door?

3. What few things should I look for to chack fitment issues?

THANKS!!

I haven't had a door panel off of my car yet, but the door fitment problem is probably the hinge pins/bushings. With the door open grab it and try lifting up on it to see if there is any play, keep an eye on the hinges and look for play/movement.

Not too familiar with the GP door panels, but u will have a few screws around the door pull and door handle. The rest r plastic clips behind the door panel that will prob brake, but r easily replaceable. U can use a screw driver to pry them out, but can damage the panel this way. Use a putty knife instead or pick up an interior trim tool made for this job. They r pretty cheap to buy anyway. When the panel is off and window is up look for the rod that goes from door handle to latch assembly. The rod has prob fallen out and will require a new rod clip to fix it. The clips r available at parts stores, just take the old one to match up.
