USPS- Can they get any better?

The others suck too. Last week FedUp delivered my parts to my neighbor next street over. FedUp called after I lodged a complaint but as soon as I let them know the neighbor brought me my stuff all interest ended. No attempt to solve the actual problem.

you should start ordering your parts COD to see how nice your neighbors really are.....😊

I had a package from them take a week to get from my local FedEx to me. It would get scanned on the truck every day and then go right back. I was on leave during that time and at the house every day. They would input comments like "no one home" or "business closed????" I called cust service, but that was useless. It wasn't until I started doing funny meme's and comments on IG and FB that they released the hostage.

UPS seems to still be pretty good to me.

I don't like couriers but ordering from Rock Auto stuff from Texas gets to me in 3-4 days by FedEx. I ordered something from Columbia this past Friday and it being shipped by Purolator. I got a notice scheduled deliver date Aug 10 so I cancelled that one

I don't think the 'actual' problem is going to get resolved by anyone at FedEx. Most of the time they, just as the rest of us, are working with a crew that has 50% of the employees uninterested or are not mentally sound enough to explain a mistake to. You're only chance is that you get someone from the other 50%.

I explained the problem to them. When the parcels get sorted onto the trucks they scribble the address as short as possible on the top facing side so the driver doesn't have to turn the box around to look at the actual address sticker. I live on 93rd AVENUE so they write 93rd on the box. The driver then interprets that as 93rd ROAD and that is where my stuff goes. I explained all this to them but I am guessing the managers never actually delivered anything in their lives and could not relate. Worse, it is only when my stuff comes out of the Lawrence hub that there is a problem. So it should be easy to correct if they cared. The guy that comes from the Brooklyn hub is cool as can be and NEVER makes a mistake. Him I tip at Christmas.

why don't you help them out and move to 93rd Road....

I had no say in the shipping decision for this. There is an update! FINALLY. See below. They had the balls to email me a "Satisfaction Survey" as to how great their Customer Service was in helping me resolve my issue. So I answered completely honest as I always do. Some areas like response time were good, but when they asked me about (paraphrase) "How satisfied are you that your issue was resolved?" I simply shredded them and started off with they told me nothing I didn't already know by using the tracking number myself. It went downhill from there. I was accurate and truthful because some of it was asking about my perceptions of service as well. I cannot say if my "glowing" review of what I thought of their service on this matter made any difference, but I did see there was an update from yesterday. Imagine that. Problem is, it'll probably bounce around in Atlanta for a few days like it usually does lately.

One saving grace...look at the time of the update... 4:42 🙂 There may be hope, yet.

But I'm still holding my breath. They're NOS silver wiper blades. I'm wondering now how they're going to look once I get them. The person I bought them from assured me of good packaging, but unless it's in a pcv tube, they're pretty good at destroying things. If they're mangled, I'll just throw in the towel.

Even with all that, I personally know some USPS workers and they care how they do their job and work pretty hard. I guess that at least partially makes up for the other lazy, useless meatbags that wear the USPS logo on their work uniforms. But when 95% of your job revolves around customer service, every customer expects their packages to arrive safely.

I experienced a similar (although not as bad) delay. Purchased some coil-overs from a guy that lives outside of the Austin TX area. He forwarded me the tracking info as soon as it was entered into the USPS system.

Showed it leaving Austin TX @ 9pm on a Tues night to Dallas. That's a 3-3.5hr road trip (5hr in traffic). They do indicate delays in shipping & say to add an extra day to their times so the 2-day Priority Mail package should be expected to take 3-days.
Friday came & no package.
Saturday came & no package. I checked the tracking each day & it never updated beyond the 9pm/Tues departure. We were both thinking WTF.

On Monday he calls to complain. AFTER that, the tracking finally updates to indicate the package is experiencing delays in transit 🙄. I finally got the C/O's @ end of business the following Tuesday. 3.5hrs South down a highway (@ a 9pm @ night departure) should not have taken a week. It's sad how it's handled. My box did arrive in good shape so I'm hoping yours arrives undamaged as well.

I'm not 100% if you've ever used it... but i usually end up subscribing to the "Text & Email Updates" and they usually are quite accurate. Never had any bad luck with USPS... But again with COVID-19, That's a Good Way to test a company & workers like this on arriving with the packages not late or missing. 😉 Especially with ALL The dead beats out there who like to steal packages... smh.
