V belt to Serp system

I want to convert a 85 v belt system I want to convert it to a Serp system from a 90 z28 that I got from the junk yard what all do I need to get this to work the 85 is a sbc with a mechanical fuel pump will the fuel line get in the way An how would I wire the alternator

You need to get a new water pump and you need a new fan. The water pump on a serpentine system spins in the opposite direction. For the alternator there is an adapter that Napa sells. There is two types, it depends if you have a gauge or a light. There is a search box on the top right of this page and there is plenty of information in this forum about wiring up the alternator

I have the old 70s style alternator plug with the two wires will the fuel line from the mechanical pump fit around the brackets?
