I'd replace the fluid, bench bleed the master and then the system and see what kind of brakes you have....

i don't see just cause i pulled one motor and put in another when everything was working fine,to having problems now.the proportioning valve on my 83 has a wire coming off the top well i cut it.is that just for the light to come on if your brakes fail.

When you bled your brakes, did you close the bleeder screws while pressing the pedal? if not re-bleed them and make sure you press the pedal while closing. I have made that mistake before. I would say the master but only if you have a hard pedal that gets soft while your braking.

pumped them up released then with foot down tightend.i'll have to see when i really start driving it,it's still going through some stages and should be on he road shortly.

it just might be low vacuum, take it for a run around the block and test the brakes, i have a crappy pedal feel in gear at idle, i'm also running a .544/.533 lift roller cam, but they stop like a mother when im driving. 15 inches of vacuum is kinda low at 1100rpm

thanks for all the info.it might be one of those thing that will work out by themself.
