In the past I posted about vehicle modification laws concerning emissions, engine swapping, and safety. Today I just found a new set of laws on another auto forum that I will share here. Apparently several states have outlawed non-factory cavities for storage in vehicles.

So better carefully check any used cars you buy for hidden compartments installed by previous owners. In some states you will be arrested and your car impounded. I know for Jeeps they sell all kinds of add on storage compartments, guess those must be illegal in some states now and land you in jail.
