Vehicle modification laws

In the past I posted about vehicle modification laws concerning emissions, engine swapping, and safety. Today I just found a new set of laws on another auto forum that I will share here. Apparently several states have outlawed non-factory cavities for storage in vehicles.

So better carefully check any used cars you buy for hidden compartments installed by previous owners. In some states you will be arrested and your car impounded. I know for Jeeps they sell all kinds of add on storage compartments, guess those must be illegal in some states now and land you in jail.

You worried or something? I see black helicopters all the time, but this doesn't concern me. I just file it under the "wussification of America" as there are plenty of laws now. Legislators could be busy for years just purging outdated laws. Instead, they find new ways to restrict your freedom.

Miata's can hide a couple of Kilos above the muffler in back. I was replacing the muffler on mine and I was like holy crap, I can hide a couple weeks worth of food up there if i have to bug out for the apocalypse. Sucks now that would be illegal. Better obey the law and not do it.

Next, New Jersey politicians will mandate roll bars be solid, to solve that "problem". They are only still legal because they didn't know they were hollow.
