VIN tampering

Well, like I said, this one is probably [and hopefully] just going to get driven. If I decide I want wheels, I'm going to want better tires which means going up to at least 17s. But I also have a practically new set of BFG 245/60s I bought for my 87's factory 15s to burn up too since I can't seem to sell them unless I give them away which I ain't gonna do. Some inexpensive 15s wouldn't be bad.

We'll see how the ole girl drives with those high dollar Kelly's

Show you how scatter brained I can be in retirement, I have already checked to see if my lowering springs and AKs I got for the 87 will fit on the 67 so I can get the adjustable coil overs for my 87 I wanted to get to begin with? I figured since I had the rear end practically done with the new springs, shocks, UMI upper and lower CAs when I tried putting on the new decorative cover and got a cup full of metal filings for my trouble, if I'm completely rebuilding the rear end, pulling axles and all, I'm going to do it it right, get it blasted and coated [got to do that twice too], and do the drum to disk conversion while I'm at it, etc. blah, yadda. So, maybe there is a reason that happened?

Nice to have options . . . 😕

Just tripped over these . . . inexpensive alternative to get some additional diameter!

Factory caps won't fit "as easily" but I was able to get around that problem on my Sabers. US Mags one piece wheels are quite reasonable [unlike the 3 piece Sabers I got for my 87].

American Legend has nearly a SS1 again in bigger sizes.

And American Racing too . . .

Yup, couldn't just drive it but I can do this in stages so I can continue to drive it . . . plus we FINALLY got the nearly $25K the IRS has owed us for 4 years with interest [cuz the interest alone paid for this] . . . So sometimes an inordinate amount of delay can be a good thing.

Since all but the tailpipes on my 87 dual exhaust can be reused with a little massaging right down to the downpipes from the W/Z manifolds and is in serious need of some surface rust TLC in spots plus I need to swap the high flow cats that are completely rusted after 12 years, I am using most of it cleaned up and coated with new 67 tailpipes to replace the pretty heavily rusted exhaust on the 67 and bought a new muffler delete Pypes system with Magnaflow mufflers all to be ceramic coated and Magnaflow stainless cats for the 87.

The shocks on the 67 are toast, likely the springs too, bouncy bouncy bouncy, so it is going to get my Eibach Pros and Bilstein AKs I bought for the 87 and I ordered Viking COs for the front of my 87 with Viking adjustable rear shocks and 2" rear lowering springs from UMI. And, thanks to $160 of rebates right now from DiscountTireDirect good through Monday, I'm putting 245/45/17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S III Plus on all 4 corners [$500 for a set of HP Michelins 👍] and a set of these US Wheels SSI replicas on the 67.

You got it just as soon as I get out of bed again . . . had to go to the dentist and rheuma-doctor for my 3 month check and managed to just catch someone's damn disease!

Naturally, after getting nothing but a mere dusting of snow like a month ago and not even any rain since Sept, since I got my new old ride we are getting our 3rd ice/sleet storm in the past week.

Settle for a video of it idling in the garage? That Holley has to go. Thing is running so rich my eyes were burning just doing a 10 second video. Now, yes, I know Holleys can be adjusted too but I want to get the appropriate QJ for it because they are better, I know how to work on them, and I can also use when I eventually build an E block 400 that belongs in it. And, that is NOT a [modern] W30 cam shaft as advertised. Has a little lope to it. Have to do some more investigation to see what it actually is? I have all the frame off pics and a lot of the paperwork but not details on the 425.

Believe it or not, that mess back there ain't even ours. We sadly lost Terri's mom and Uncle Don within 6 months a few years back, got home, and all of their stuff from their respective homes was in our garage because it was big enough for the family to store it in while they go through it all. Betty and Don were quite the pack rats. Unfortunately, it's all still sitting there. Thinking about getting one of those POD things . . .

Meh, going to have to live with 2 1/2". But going from 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 and to Magnaflows instead of the "No Brand Name Found" mufflers that are on it will help. Look like Walker Turbos that are on it now but no idea . . .

I've got these 22" Magnaflows below on my 87 and absolutely love them. Mellow rumble at idle, will go fairly quiet at cruise rpm, and sound great with your foot in the fan. Think I posted over in my 87 thread that since the non-stainless cats I put on it need replaced badly but the rest of the 12 year old system just needs some surface rust removal, it is coming off, and going down to Jet Hot along with the new Pypes system and these new mufflers and cats. Will put a cheaper non polished coat on the old system and new 67 tailpipes from the Pypes kit, put a more expensive polished coat on the rest of the Pypes kit, these new mufflers and cats, and the 87 tailpipes that are still in great shape and put the polished system back on the 87. Since the 67 is going to be my driver car, I can put the coated system on it just whenever it's convenient? Other than a donut gasket that needs some TLC, the heavily rusted system on it does not appear to be leaking anywhere yet.

Leaning toward polished [87] and non-polished [67] of this color. Not looking for the chrome look but polished this should still look quite good. I have a close to this BBQ paint color on my W/Zs that still look like the day I put them on.
