Bob,
I could understand being spoiled by the power a big block provides. It sounds like you have a good plan for the wagon.
They certainly have a lot of potential.

As far as getting the rear door windows to roll down. This topic has been gone over numerous times.
First off, they won't slide down very much due to shape of the lower door being able to clear the rear wheel well.
Secondly, there's not enough space in the door itself to be able to add any kind of window regulator.
I know it was a stupid design relying on the rear vent windows for ventilation. It is what it is.

These cars make cool family cruisers. I love the versatility of them. I've relied on mine as a daily driver for over 20 yrs., and as a utilitarian parts hauler, tow vehicle, and mini-truck. It's currently apart and waiting for further completion.

I haven't seen any Malibu wagons locally in car shows for years.

VERY nice. I'm one of those nuts that likes brown. That was a popular color scheme in 82/83...I see quite a few of them (relatively speaking).

Great looking wagon, Griff,
Nice subtle appearance, not over the top...yet it can still be considered a sleeper.
Sounds like you have a few nice rides to your credits. 8)
Thanks for posting the pics, too.
