If I knew you were gonna go into great detail I would have done the same. As far as the factory strikes and the roof collapse, I was not aware of.

Lets hear it. 😛

Detail is necessary to clearly convey any subject matter.

Lets talk paint.
G-bodies, as well as all other cars of the era, were all painted with laquer paint which, fades, oxidizes, and breaks down over time.
The most common condition is laquer-checking or "crows feet". The layer of paint basically splits, allowing the environment to attack what lies beneath.

What's interesting about this though is that my trunk lid SPID specifically states BC/CC for my '87 however I did have the lacquer checking as you mentioned on just two places on the car. I do know that the top of the car from the pin strip up had been repainted at one time by the previous owner. They supposedly hit an owl on the hood. So I wonder if the car came with BC/CC from the factory but the paint shop that repainted it used Lacquer?

My mom's '88 CSCB also has BC/CC instead of lacquer.
