If this 400 was not already in a GBody, you will have to cut the "ears" off it.

Not all had dual bolt patterns.

Also, depending on how you want the kickdown switch to operate, you'll need an electrical kickdown switch for the TH400, if you care about that. If you can find a setup from a VIN 9 80s H/O or 442, you can snag the throttle pedal bracket from that. Not sure if all Cutlasses had the bracket the same. But you can mount the kickdown switch in the same spot the A/C cutoff switch was mounted. The switches look very similar to each other, but I think the kickdown is normally open switch and the a/c cutoff is a normally closed switch. I have never done this, so I cannot say for sure it would work, but it sure looks like it would.

Where any TH400s dual bolt patterns? The only dual bolt pattern transmissions I have ever seen where the TH350s and 2004r.
I don't think there were any that I'm aware of. It's just that I don't know if 100% of them were not. Never say never when you don't know. All the TH400's I've ever dealt with were either BOP or Chevy bolt patterns. Hence the adapter plate requirement. But if there were any dual-patterns out there, I don't know of any. My main complaint with TH400 was the seemingly never-ending choices of tailshaft lengths. Sure, you could change them out, but not quickly.
