Don57, my husband was just looking at the pics of your car. He reminded me that yours was the one he was slobbering over 2 weeks ago. He's into Ford Torinos he had in high school.

S/Wagon:

Tks for the link. I bid on the lights for her car this morn.

Sherry is also in need of the 4 inch vertical chrome trim mounted to the ¼ between the rear light/1-4, and a decklid chrome lip trim, and a black driver seat belt holder for bucket seats (black). If they are there call me at 832 four 2 8 76 one six.

Heading to the local pickapart hoping to find anything this morning…not much in older stuff in Houston pickaparts these days…for her Pontiac or my Ford.

Really appreciate the heads up on the lights. Wading thru ebay listings is a real PIA.

Any suggestions you guys have on a bolt on spoiler??? Sherry doesn’t really like the idea but I’ve seen pix of several Gbody spoilers and think she would like it once she could see it sitting on the car. The deck is 55” wide and 3” of extensions R/L. T/As are too narrow and she has said NO to a small wing type so it has to be attached. I like the look of a 92 Lumina Z34 spoiler but can’t find one (not the regular Lumina wrap type). Had an extra for mine and got rid of it when I sold the car….DA move.

Thanks for all your help guys. It’s good to see her excited about Detroit iron again.

Tony (Sherry’s husband)

Paydirt. Love scoring at pickapart.

4 charcoal gray Rally IIs, exactly as wanted. Driver shape, but the rust/grime cleaned off pretty easily and hid pretty good wheels. Need new rings/caps.

2 vertical trim fillers for ¼ to rear lamp

2 extension trim fillers

$75.

Good haul today for her car.

Nothing for my Torinos found

Good score. They should look cool on the Grand Am. You can't go wrong with a set of Rallye II's.

Nice score on the RallyII's. Check for fitment before you buy tires though. Look closly at the outer tie rod ends when the wheels are turned. I do hope they fit.

Nice find on the tail lights as well. Especially since they spelled Lemans as Le Mans.

Longroof, the 80's did have the brushed look on the gauge bezel. This car has a newer bezel, ~82-85 ish.

Don57, I see you are missing a piece of chrome, do you have both sides of this piece? I think you know of the piece I am looking at. Your car launches nice btw......!!!

Grand Am Man: Good catch. I forgot when I talked with the old owner (at 530am to buy it) he had to switch to the faux wood radio bezel when he switched from the 8track to newer GM radio. Said it wouldn't fit right and didn't want to cut the original bezel. After the 37 hour nonstop drive I forgot some things...LOL.

Thanks for the tip on the tie rod end. Those II's came off a 80 Bonnevile so I'm assuming clearance shouldn't be a problem. Going with 225/70/14 BFG TA's tomorrow. Wheels are 14x7. Only have 2 tires right now, others are coming after I confirm no front suspension issues with that size. Will have Sherry post pix once all done (new caps etc) and all 4 mounted.

Old owner also put air shocks on the car. Will find out if they hold air tomorrow for the rake look. If not, Eaton coil springs with 1.5" lift added will be put under the car to give it a slight lift at the rear.

Still in need of 78 grills and a NEW ITEM: 78 deck lid trim.

Had the windows tinted thursday...a must for the Texas sun.

Also does anyone know if the newer black cap inserts look have been done to the old school II caps? Sherry really liked the 95ish black background with red pontiac symbol and silver pontiac name on the insert. Told her that won't fit over her caps for the rally IIs. Just wondering if anyone (a/m) has created that look for the Rally IIs....haven't seen it.

Tony
