Little something I found today while looking to spend money..lol Hard to find these for under 125 around here ,,Got it for the low amount of money I wanted to pay. Knew one would show up for the price I wanted if I just waited. View attachment 180531
New low budget 350 build thread in the engine section.

If you're like me, you'll lose some other battles and come out in a questionably cheapa$$ state in the end.

Sort of...

For 1988-91 you could buy a suburban, full sized blazer/jimmy, or a HD version of the r/v series line in regular or crew cab.
......and G series vans stuck with the body style through 95. Although they aren't so much referred to as square body vans.....they have a lot in common with C/K and R/V series.

well got done with a side job I had rebuilding a transmission for a friends dads Bronco II I got the swapping the 350s I had on my engine stand, The L98 block will sit on the sidelines for a while and I slapped my Vortec 350 on the stand and got to opening it up and turns out Its a 4 Bolt main, View attachment 183007 but someone ****ed away installing a timing chain in it at some point, The left the cam retainer off the front of the cam, so the cam gear was walking back and forth and chewed up the block View attachment 183009 , Nothing major though, them I got the oil pan off and seen this ..LOL I dont think they got around to running it after the oil pump install. but its clean inside, and has had a replacement oil pump that I dont think was ever run, but I am going to pull it apart and check it, I port all my oil pumps anyway. Not a bad find for 100 bucks. Should power the bonne just fine with this 87 L98 cam and L98 heads . Im shooting for 9.5 to 1 CR nothing too major right now, Ill build the L98 block later on with some flat tops and vortec style heads. Im really trying hard to not scoop up a set of 113 Aluminum L98 heads this guy locally has .
So you are swapping the 305 I take it? That would be a nice treat for the Bonneville.

Tucks up nice and tight.
Also got a deal on a set of flat top pistons, so I've got them ready to go, me and a buddy pressed all the pins out and installed the new pistons on the rods, and I got the block mocked up last night to see how deep in the hole these new pistons would be and Im gonna have to have the block decked .026 so i can use a typical replacement gasket that is .038 compressed so I can have 9.6 to one compression I want to set the compression up with the largest head gasket, so that If I want to raise the compression, I can just go to a thinner head gasket. Aslo picked up a 95 LT1 from a firebird, gonna use the cam from that in my 350 and it came with another pile of parts from a b body LT1 everything except the block and crank. get pics of that later.
