To bad you weren't close. I have everything you need to fix her up. Buddy of mine bringing all my stuff back from his house where I was storing it at. As long is the frame good, should have no issues with your operation 8)

Well bad new's, the earliest I will be able to talk to someone is next Wednesday. The idiot that's handling my case doesn't like calling people back while they're NOT at work, It's not like I have a bad schedule, I go to work at 4p.m. and he calls at 5:30p.m.

:blam:

Yeah, some of these clowns can be a little difficult to nail down. I guess with the holidays fast approaching, you'll have to be patient.
But if you have to keep calling him, then so be it. Good luck, man. Hope it all comes together.

Yeah tried to call him this morning and it went straight to voice mail, and it say he won't be back until Wednesday.

Might try to cut a deal with my friend that I'm getting the parts from, he has a sonoma for $1500. Hope he can take half now and half later. Or I might have to pull the fender out some more and drive the wagon?!?!

Well the insurance adjuster came out today to look the car over and decided that its a total loss, so now I get to wait until "early to mid next week" to hear from the total loss department about how much I will get for it.

So now I'm going to start repairs as soon as I can so I have something to drive and wait on these pricks to get back to me.

F@%k!

how could that be a total loss? fame mildly bent? if not, that is definately not a total loss.

It doesn't take much to "total" a car these days...especially one that's over 30 yrs old. Unless you have special interest, or stated value insurance, they're going to offer you squat.
In their (insurance co.) eyes, these cars aren't worth much. So therefore they're going to try to get away with offering as little as they can ... Scumbags.

they tried to do that with my GP. I argued with them and ended up getting the cost of the estimate of $3,570 and I kept the car with no changes on the title. Just cause they offer something does not mean you have to accept it.

Steve,
You're absolutely right. You have to hold fast and don't let them steamroll you into accepting a piss poor settlement.

I did have them threaten them with a law suit and I work in the legal world. The courts are more sympathetic to an individual than to insurance companies so you have that in your back pocket.

Maybe that's the key. You have to threaten legal action to get results. I guess it's all part of the negotiation process.
