the insurance companies usually have the upper hand. If your car is undriveable then you most likely have a rental that the insurance is paying for. They will make an offer and if you refuse it they will say that the rental car will have to be returned so you're stuck without a car and possibly no money to get another one so they know you may be forced to accept their offer. If the car is still on the road or you have another to drive then they have no bargaining power,

what is needed is a couple of estimates from body shops so you know what to demand from them. If you do your own repairs then they will usually deduct 10% from the estimate

It's like working with the mafia. Be it now or later, you're getting getting screwed in the end.

Well there isn't any frame damage, the guy said that these parts would be "really hard to find" and therefore expensive.

I tried asking if he could just estimate it right under totaled but he said no way.

And since I have liability only I would have to pay for a rental car and "maybe" get reimbursed. Yeah the guy said maybe.

So next week I'll try to argue with these damn people again and hope I don't get fu#%ed.

But I got the car driveable, had to take the bumper off and pull the fender out. It looks lifted without a bumper lol.

Thanks for the advise guys!

Well finally got my check today. $1550 so I got $550 more than I paid for it and I'm still driving it .

Should be getting an s10 in the next couple of days and also tracked down a front clip. So hopefully ill be able to start a build thread here soon 😀
