what are different types of sun visors will fit in our gbodys besides the stock one?.. does anybody have any pics of either custom ones or some that came off of different vehicles?? thanx

I had always wondered what other people have used. I will be going on a junk yard trip one day in the near future just for some "cool" sunvisors.

I think if late model sunvisors can be used, that would be cool. It's certainly more cost effective to find good used late model visors than having the old junk recovered. Providing of course the color is correct.
I think I'll also be on the hunt for a set...maybe with map/ reading lights...maybe not.

I'd also like to pick up a later style interior mirror with built in inside/outside digital temp reading. I think they were in Tahoes, Trail Blazers, etc. I'm wondering where the temp sensor(s) would be located on those vehicles.

It is mounted on the brace right behind the grill on Tahoe's and GM trucks. Usually just below the hood latch.

Thank you Paul!
Now I know what to look for and where it's located. You da man.

The actual sensor looks like a small part. Below that would be the wiring with the all weather plug, I assume.

I used a set of sun visors from my old 92 Olds Achieva. They didnt look cool but were the right color, in great shape, and the last remaining piece of my first car after it went to scrap. I might dye them black and re use them because of the outrageous prices people want for g body visors in decent shape. The ones that came in my monte felt like they were cardboard wrapped in cloth :wtf:

You're right about them seemingly made from cardboard wrapped in fabric. It's basically a masonite type material. Pretty basic.
I was thinking even if the bases don't line up, you can always remove the visor part from the swivel/ mounting bracket and install them onto the the G-body mounting brackets. No rocket science there.
Again, matching the color between the headliner and visors could be a little tricky. although dying them is always an option.

I picked a set from a 1st gen olds aurora.
You'll have to use a ½" spacer under the headliner for it mount properly.

Interesting sunvisors. .. coverage on all sides
Thanks for posting the pics.

I understand that sun visors from some of the newer Blazers & Jimmys will work on these cars as well. Some of the Blazers & Jimmys also have an overhead console that can be swapped along with the visors.
