What are your G-body NEW YEAR'S resolutions for 2019?

Get back up to Pennsylvania and put the transmission in the 78 Cutlass so I can drive it. Once it's a reliable driver I plan to get back to my 87 the car I actually wanted. Although if I'm driving the 78 I'm probably going to end up doing other things to it like a posi and gears and whatever else I find wrong. There's a lot more dreams of getting things done than there's time for so I'm kinda hoping when I get the bisness going I finde a shop to rent fairly cheap and close to home for all of the above.

What trans are you putting in it.

Pull the SBC out of my 442 drag car for a refresh ( I have a taller intake and a bigger cam for it) swap out the 200 4r for a Powerglide and probably swap the rears with my 83 ECSS. then go drag racing! I also want to finish the engine swap on my 65 EC (355 SBC with Vortec heads, Serpentine belt setup) and get some road time with it.

When my health returns, I hope for the following:

1. locate the water leak on the driver's side
2. fix the hole in the floor because of the leaking, and the 3 other rust/rot holes. Wish it was done in 2018 but I can't find anyone.
3. replace the body bushings, (rear bolt on passenger's side rotted off) again need to find someone.
4. re-do the headliner, and dye the door panels later in the year when the above 3 items are done.

I'm going to change the bellhousing to get rid of the T5 WC tilt so I'll have to be changing the transmission crossmember. I'll have to figure out which crossmember will fit so if any of you know what fits please let me know. I also want to put on the rear disks that i mocked up years ago and change the brakes to manual.

adapter plate

I'm going to use a different bellhousing and it is probaby cheaper than an adapter plate but thanks for posting that, I never knew they had adapter plates for that. I wonder though with the transmission sitting further back is that would cause any issues

nope that what we all used

Resolutions are usually meant to be broken...but I would like to get my 200-4R built and installed in the car. Once that's done, change out the 3.08 gears for the original 3.42's. Also would like to convert to rear disc brakes...either the LS1 F-body type, or the S-10 Blazer type. It's all on the to-do list.

It needs new rear tires for the non-winter wheels. Other than that, the plan is to just drive the thing daily as I have been with the goal of only having the add gas and change the oil maybe twice throughout the year.
