This Dolly has been known for managing massive... ummm... objects.

Jack, this one? I have it too. The wheels have held up but the blue paint just FELL off in big sheets. And the chain for the tank is useless too.

Yeah Mark, that 's the one. Actually the front wheels...well, the bearings in the swivel portion went bad. Good Chinese metallurgy. 👎 I agree, the chain is useless.

You will need to modify the mount points for anything but Chevy, but I have used these for years with success. When moving long distance, take wheels off and strap it down.

I was going to buy two for the ls motors I'm working on. But the actual LS version is over $100! I didn't feel like buying these then having to cut them apart so I just made my own instead

Yeah, those are the ones I was referring to before. We had a 305 on one and it kept falling over. The wheels kind of buckled from the weight. We looked at that, looked at the Pontiac, and didn't even try. I'm beginning to think the wheels are key. If I can get some heavy duty wheels not too expensive then I can rebuild the dollies I have. I mean even the mover's ones are just 2 x 4's but with great wheels.

it's a shame, things like that @ one time by law had to have a factor of safety times two or maybe even three I'm not sure-meaning they would have to hold double their rated spec any time someone's life would be in its path.(elevators jack stands etc etc) i don't know if it's still a thing but the way things are made these days I don't think so.

Thanks for the offer. But I just went and looked at the dolly I "borrowed" from my SIL. It has 4" steel wheels with rubber tires, ball bearings on the axle, as well as the swivel. Very tight. H&L made them? I want something like that. We rolled the Jeep engine around on that and it was a breeze. EDIT: Looking at sites it appears that you want "double bearing" casters. That means the swivel AND the wheel are ball bearings. Otherwise you get a "sleeve" bearing on the wheel and that is not what I want. Not easy to find either.
