Rotella T 10W 30 is becoming hard to find in some places. I live in Calgary and it is hard to find in large stores.

What about a new engine? Ive heard tell that using synthetic oils in new engines can create ring sealing issues... opinions?
By "new engine", I was referring to rebuilt "old engines"...lol ... guess I shoulda been a little clearer on this.... 😀

mobil1 and filter all day. my dad has a CTS and uses mobil1 as well goes to mexico like 3 times a year in it and it has big time miles on it and no problems. im a see it to believe kinda guy and ive seen it

So am I but in my dads case, i dont think i have ever seen him change the oil in his 94 caravan...as a matter of fact he tops it off with all of my old oil. and hes pushing 350k.. and it still runs like a champ...the dam computer went out before he ever had any kind of motor problem. the besides it burning a little oil, power steering pump going out hes never touched it the dam engine or transmission fluid for that matter... i dont think i could ever bring my self to do that..

sounds like my sister she has a 300m and i guess she saw on the news that its a lie that you have to change ur oil every 3k and she changes it like every 20,000 miles no joke and its got like 200k on it and if i didnt kno how she treats it i would of thought its a good car sounds great still but i dont care what the news says... her oil be gettin clumpy and sh*t lol

Right now I got less than 500 miles on a complete rebuild so I'm running napa brand straight 30w (one of the few non-detergents I could find) and a bottle of lucas zddp. For the most part I've ran Castrol in most of my vehicles and will probably do the same for the cutlass along with some lucas.

Brad Penn with Lucas additive
The Brad Penn is good oil if you can get it and I would recommend the Lucas additive for most of the engines in these cars
