nice pics. I stand corrected - the aluminum intake looks great with the gold block!

I may have to do that.

Period correct satin black. Gold says 'I have a nice old school performance engine' which you do not have.

awww....thats mean!.... I painted mine gm corp blue...not because I wanted to...but because the man that built the motor painted without asking me...so I had little choice in the matter. But, since the car is blue, it didnt bother me as much. But, if I ever paint my car black/gold in the h/o theme or bronze, the motor will be gold again, for sure... The 455 blue paint of the early 70's is an awesome look with aluminum/ black accessories....just saying...

i just ordered some gold from my local parts supplier the guy called it "universal gold" hmmm, when i get mine painted good or bad ill post some pics and see what you guys think

Wasn't meant to be mean. To me, a gold engine means 'old school Olds 350 rocket' and when one sees one, one usually thinks 'performance', 'muscle', or 'power/torque' ( regardless of the fact not all the 350's were great performers stock ) and his swirl port 307 simply won't support that view. Also IMO, a gold engine is a bit 'blingy' too and being blingy without the muscle to back it up is kind of a ricer thing and who wants to be associated with using ricer tactics? A black engine says 'I'm not showing off' and IMO, looks cool too.

I always liked painting the engines what color they came from the factory.

Aint nothing better then Chevrolet Orange.....Even if it is an Olds motor..But stay away from gold, that's left for the inhalers 😀 I would say go with olds blue 🙂
