What did you do to your non g-body project today [2025 edition]

Got back to the LS swap we had left for quite a bit since my buddies went to Mecum to buy some cars as well as working on other stuff in the mean time. Got a weird one for you guys, I think they ended up finding the solution by relearning the TPS. But when it first went to fire, if almost sounded like its timing was off with backfiring into the intake. But once the TPS was unplugged it would fire up and run perfect. Plug it in and then boom it would die, first plan is to relearn the TPS but will see what that does

Seeing all that snow and ice make me realize how blessed I am to be in Arizona. Here I am complaining it will be 60° with some wind today. Complaining I am gonna be cold in the garage lol.

This is snow. This was also a week ago, I've plowed twice since then.

Had a Throttle Position Sensor go "dumb" on me and I never was able to get it to relearn how to differentiate between "0" and "1". Come to find out a minute or more later that they can "die; or go faulty and the only cure is to yank the sucker and plug in a new one. Apparently with this part, the failure rate was so common that they actually carried replacements as standard stock. The TPS problem gave me so much grief that in the end it was probably the leading reason that I scrapped the complete TBI system and returned to a carb. Just too much to tune and not enough fun from using it.

As for snow, BLEAH!! Back in rotation for the next two weeks and today we received as much as a foot of the nasty stuff. Couldn't keep the windshield from icing up and fouling the windshield wipers; cheap Dodge crap, probably not even rated for winter use. NO, no pictures either. Why would I take pictures of something that i detest? The neighbours knew that I was at work and tried to shovel some of the overburden away as a favor but gave it up, do not blame them. Came home at lunch and spent most of it digging out the front driveway. Came home after shift and spent another hour revisiting all the work that had been done at lunch plus the sidewalks around the house and out to the shop.

And for the local TV news hour we have this sweet young thing who absolutely waxes so lyrical about the stuff that she walked to work in it??? Truly bent methinks.

Finally got a media storage that Fed Ex delivered to the wrong place and had to wait a few days to get, I will only bore you with a few pics since I channeled my inner Rktpwrd with documenting. Unlike his amazing work which deserves it, this is just a necessary evil with my addiction. The new storage is all my unopened movies I haven't got around to yet

brought a new "project" home. ....

bought a wrecked '03 Trailblazer at auction with the aluminum block LS engine for less than $600. gonna pull the drive train for a possible future LS swap. the 22yr old cloth interior is surprisingly in great shape with no tears in the fabric. thinking I may pull the power seats also for the El Camino. then sell everything else to the junkyard. I may even come out $$$ ahead on this deal!

Being a V8 that should have the optional 8.5" rear end in it FYI. The 6 cylinders mostly got the 7.5". Being a long wheelbase makes it even more likely. You can punch that 5.3 out to a 5.7 as well. Same engine I have on the stand.
