What did you do to your non g-body project today [2025 edition]

went out to help my friend's housebuilding project and take a look at the TrailBlazer driveline removal project I have lined up.
cut up some railroad ties into large blocks to set the body on since tires are flat.

then we looked at the concrete house slab he had cut into pieces but some would not come out except as 2 or 3 joined pieces. finally got 1 out and discovered the original owner put down chain-link fence on the soil before pouring the original slab, which is why they were still joined together.....

then we went out and pulled out the chain-link fence (yellow lines) that got flattened during a tornado a couple years ago. the tall grass and some scrub trees had grown up thru it so we used a chainsaw and weed-whipper lawnmower to cut the big stuff, then hooked up a tow-chain with hooks to the fence, dropped it over my ball hitch, and started driving away and pulling it out over the farm field. worked like a charm!

I had to replace a front lower control arm on the Jeep XJ. While under there I noticed that the Mevotech end link bushings were all mushroomed out and useless. Only a couple of years old and shot. I grabbed a closeout on RockAuto for some 'famous name' rebuild kits only $1.89. Same part number as Auto Zone so I figured they can't be too awful. The Mevotech steel end link body was fine, just the rubber bushings disintegrated. I piggybacked the order so only one shipping charge.

The "Famous Brand" stuff listed on Rockauto is all Carquest stuff they must've bought from some of the 700+ Advance Auto Parts stores that were closed down. The numbers and pictures all correspond to Carquest stuff on AAP's website.

I saved nearly $200 with a "Famous Brand" starter from Rock not long ago, and I received a Carquest Premium part.

Went over a buddies Saturday morning to have one of his friends quote me to repaint the Monte, while I was there helped him put in the Summit LED headlight replacements that are a much better deal than the Holley

if you re considering doing a disc brake conversion from a 98-05 Blazer.... that's a damn good price for the front rotors

also, with rotor part #'s if you see a C or a P after the YHxxxxxx #, that means Coated (carbon) or Painted

EDIT: btw, while not common, I have seen defective rotors. so if you buy, be sure to install and test-fit within the 30 days allowed. same goes for calipers.
