what do you hate about gbodys

I think the ease of obtaining add on GN exterior parts and emblems is why its so popular. I will admit the majority Ive seen were not what most would consider a "good clone/tribute", but a clone/tribute none the less.
I also believe because they are so easy to modify and or improve on is why you dont see too many in orginal condition anymore. And it would seem most dont think they are old enough to restore into original condion. IMHO
A GN clone with a Chevy 350 is a dime a dozen around here.

But back to the original topic-
Another thing I dislike about G-bodys is the craptactular t-top design. I worry about getting morning dew on my car if I ever have to leave it out overnight. I pop the tops off and let it air dry as soon as the sun comes out.

I think that most people dont realize how clean a basic trim gbody can look. I dont believe every MonteCarlo/OlsCutlass/BuickRegal needs to look like their Superior trim levels. Ive seen plenty of great looking G's with chrome grilles and side trim.

there are hundreds of thousands GM's on the road since the 80's with the 7.5" rear end. Many members here are still using the original 7.5" rear end that came with the car. How can you say the rear end is weak?. It served it's purpose
Well it is fine for stock engine under "normal " driving conditions. With a normal driver.
Enter a higher output engine transmission and a driver that likes to have a Lil fun. 7.5 rear end is weak. A Lil wider tire and a burn out and pop there it went.
 
I hate that they are stolen so much. I think car theft in America needs to become a Felony, 5 years minimum, or some type of alternative punishment that benefits car owners.

true say on the stolen thing i live in canada i have had parts stolen off my two parts cars outside which are under covers and the 7.5 is a great rear end you just cant have sticky tires and stomp on it. its like punch a brick wall you know you will break your hand
 
Problem is once you have invested money in a non special version, you will take a loss selling them, plain and simple. There plus is full frame, rear drive 2dr that came in with the last Olds V8's. The A and B bodies had much better suspension than the G's garbage metric suspension. Terrible wiring, handling and garbage 7.5" rear end plus mostly aniemic factory motors.

Whether Your building a Tri 5 or a G body I consider this a hobby. I NEVER look into "how much I can get back". Every week I either save up or flush my $$ in parts, my free hours; mostly spent under my car or around it. If i had a different POV on old cars, well I don't think i'd have as much fun doing what I do. Its a lifestyle I guess.
 
One thing to remember is, and I hate to say this, With the exception of the top end cars like the GN most G body cars are kinda mundane from the factory, Not very attention getting at a car show. The other thing, G bodys have always been the Rodney Dangerfield of the car scene. They don't get no respect. Although that seems to be changing as most GM RWD platforms have gotten so ridiculously expensive.
