what gets you motivated to work on your car?

I guess you could say "propaganda." Every time I window shop for parts online, watch any car related movie or show like Fast & Furious or Top Gear, or play any racing oriented video games I'm totally put in the mood. Also for some reason "Jerry Was a Racecar Driver" by Primus also gets me in the mood. idk. :lol: I've also set a deadline for myself. Rear-end rebuild and paint job in time for the local cruise night this year.

On the other hand you always have boring stuff to do like oil changes and such. I've been halfway through re-doing my center console in-lays for like a week now. I've been blaming it on the weather and my work schedule but really I just need to get out there and finish. That's when warm weather is extremely helpful.

Everytime I get home and look at my driveway that gets me motivated.lol.i have a 11month old daughter so its kind of hard to get our there atleast once a week.My dead line to have it running is Easter.Here in Florida on Easter at a Bradenton beach hundreds of cars get together and just hang out and have a good time.so I guess Easter is my motivation.

Every time i walk outside and see my car, she tells me, "touch me, dress me, love me" lol. I hate that I live in an apartment and cannot really work on my car. So yes, I am jealous of you all who live with someone or own your own home. I am 22 so I dont own a home yet. Just the way the car looks motivates me and online browsing.

My wife bitchin at me for spending the money on it helps alot. Gettin tired of lookin at a sweet tall deck 427 in my 79 elco, that has MR "fat rodders" headers THAT "yes, they fit each discription listed" don't clear. Gettin tired of lookin at it. Exhaut manifolds just cancel out "hot rod", whatever it is. Sometimes a long break brings good solutions. 5am Ebay purchases are hard to stop, when she's sleepin! 😀 PS: She might be on to something. I have the 427. in the 79. A nice 305 with only 9k on it we took out. And, 2 350 4 bolt builds, in the works. It's NOTobsessive
