My Grandpa and grandma both had matching 79 Cutlasses,a light blueish one and a dark blue one. I had always wanted one since then. Now I am on my eleventh Cutlass,13th G-body. So I guess I became pretty obsessed lol😉

I always had a thing for Oldsmobile's, my uncle had a '72 Cutlass that I rode in for the first Woodward Dream Cruise when I was just a little kid. My mom's first car was a '76 Cutlass, my dad had a black and silver '80 Cutlass that got taken out by an IROC Camaro he then replaced it with an '84 Grand Prix and my grandma had a '82 Cutlass. To me they are the last vehicles to use the muscle car formula their only fault is being built in the 80's. Plus it doesn't hurt that they could be picked up on a high school/college budget.

I wanted an 80s 442 because my dad has had a 68 since before I was born and thats the car I grew up "cruising" in  If it wasnt for that car id probably be driving a pissed off weedeater like a Honduh

My first car that I bought with my own money was a '70 cutlass S. It was a bench seat, 2bbl car. But it was a good looking car none the less. It rode nice, was solid, and sounded nice w/dual exhaust and glass packs. I never painted it, but kept it as shiny as possible. Nowadays, you cant find a car like that for under 5-6 grand. My Gbody was an old highschool buddy's first new car, and he sold it to me for a song. Ive kept it since, and will probably never sell it unless I just get so broke that I have no choice. I love the older GM cars, rwd, heavy, solid. The ride is like nothing on the road today. Long live the G!

I'm really liking your guys stories they're awesome! Keep them coming guys!

old school enough for me and it was cheap 😉 first car was a regal for $350 with a knock.. then parted out for a GN, then came the cutties... first cutlass i got because i was just turning 16 and needed a car, i found it with 37k on it and drove it til i found another one while searching for parts.. blew a piston in it so i bought the current and im gonna put a v6 turbo in the silver one soon... in between then i owned a monte for parts for the silver car (t top roof) and just made some money off of it... all in all ive kept getting G bodies because ive grown to know them so well and parts arent expensive. however, im gonna go another 19 years back and get a 68 chevy, i feel like im ready for something harder 😀

That is one very nice G body,do you have any more pics?

Back in 89 I used to hang out at a game room in Chicago. One of the guys who was a semi-regular bought a white Regal. I thought it was a pretty good lookin car. Then in 91, I had a 1970 Barracuda, and one of my neighbors from down the block drove by and saw me wrenching on it. He stopped and chatted me up for a bit then he looks at me and says, "you ever think you're gonna get something with some power in it?" Now, the Cuda had a Purple cammed383 Magnum, with a 727TF transmission headers & a six pak. I could make the guy on the next block pee his bed if I came home late. So, being young and having to defend my car I said, Oh yeah, that granny grocery getter gonna take a pure muscle car bub? He says he'll be right back. He drives off in a newer volvo wagon, and pulles up in what I think is a Black Regal. He tells me to get in and there is a $100.00 bill scotch taped to the dash in front of me. He tells me when he says go, if I can grab the bill, I can have it. NO DICE, he het the pedal, and i couldn't sit forward enough to get my hand on it. If you're guessing it was a GN, you got it. But I went to the track with him the next week-end and watched him put down a sub 10 on the quarter. The Cuda's best after three tries was 13 and some change. He swapped cars with me on the ride home. After seeing what it could do, and how well it drove, I wanted one ever since.
Now I drive a GP, and hope to build me a Turbo Buick after I finish the Goat. Thanks Steve, where ever you are.
