OK, so I know the car is all original so the 2.41 gears is what i have. Can I upgrade to better gears for better pick up? or should I just leave whats in there?

it's not a hard job to switch out the rear end but if your not sure what you are doing or don't have the tools to do it find a local guy who does rear ends and it's not an expensive job...the 2.41 uses a 2 series carrier and it'll take up to a 3.08, after that you'll need a 3 series carrier. I run with 3.08 and I like them but it's a personal choise

I dont have the tools so I would have to take it to a shop. With a 3.08 rear what diffrence would I notice? compared to the 2.41.

you'd notice a difference but it's up to you whether that difference was enough for what you want. I like the 3.08 cause they give me enough of a quick take off to make me happy and they give me long enough gears with the 5 speed standard I have. Alot of guys in here like the 3.42 and I tried them out but I didn't like them...I do alot of highway driving so I like to keep the revs low. I can cruise at 75 and keep the revs at 2000 in 5th

phone around to different shops because it's about an 1hr and 1/2 job to switch out the diff...if you pick up a used set of gears from another 7.5 the pinion depth will be right for about 99% of other housings so only the backlash has to be adjusted which isn't a long job....if the carrier and pinion bearings have to be changed that will add another 30-45 minutes to the job

Ill start calling some shops this weekend. But first to find some good 3.08 gears. I do a lot of highway driving too but I only have the 3 spd automatic the car came with.. Will this cause my rpms to get much higher than it already is?
