The complete 2wd dual piston caliper setup needed for a simple upgrade and cost efficient too.

The biggest thing I see going now is the body/frame braces and the jeep steering shafts. If I were you I would be hoarding these for fellow members

Skip.
That rear might be an 8". Somewhere I've read that the Granada rears are 8", not 9". I figured I'd warn you before pulling the rear and being disappointed.
I believe the Lincolns have 9" rears with disc brakes. I think it's the smaller Lincoln models, not the Continental, the LS..?

Sorry to hear about your good friend. Losing a good friend is like losing a close family member sometimes.
hang in there, Brah.

I pull those for people as often as they want them, but spending money on that small stuff kinda ties my money up, so I just wait till someone asks me, many more videos to come on some cool stuff

thanks bro, and yes, I think it is an 8" too, cause it looks smaller than my 9", but im getting conflicting opinions, and i didnt have anything to measure it with, I was told that if it had a flat spot on the top than it is an 8" and this one is round, it just looks small to me and some of the granadas I believe had the 9", I havent gone to the truck/bronco area and checked, but there may be a big end housing or two around also, which would be better anyway and some of them are the right length as well...

the Linc Versailles is def a better choice and has disc brakes already, but fat chance finding one of those at the yard with a rear still on it!

Skip,
The 8" Granada rears are commonly used in street rods. I guess they're a good workable width and cheap to obtain. Probably still better than a GM 7.5 rear.

I had a neighbor with a (76, I believe) Granada, was equipped with nearly every option but reclining seats. Was a 351W with 4-wheel disc brakes, and was equipped with a 9 inch (with 2.75 open carrier). He swapped in the 3.25s from one of his Talladegas, made for a much better-driving car. It also had the dreaded opera window rot. It also had the painted magnums, he was told by the original owner that they were a required option with the discs...maybe for better cooling? This was in 1980, so some of the details are a little fuzzy, and unfortunately, I can't ask him since he died in the wreck after his factory S/S 68 Mustang (one of 50) suffered a catastrophic crankshaft failure which took out the trans and oiled the strip/slicks.

So, they were out there, but I would imagine not very common.

The first generation Lincoln Versailles is the one with the narrow 9 inch/disc brakes. Actually saw one (whole 78 Versailles)on Craigslist about a month ago for $500, I'm sure it didn't last long.

Haha, found the link http://lawton.craigslist.org/cto/2783950087.html

Ford rears are easy, they put a nice stamped tag on them telling you ring gear size, gear ratio, and whether it's a locking diff or not.

Unless it's a hotrodded car, the tags are almost always still on them.
