What would persuade you to sell?

Heck, I spend $560 a month on gas delivering pizza, and no, the company does not cover all of it. I average 2750 miles a month ( over a 4 month period), about 2500 of which are work-related.

I get offers every weeks to sell it. My family is always telling me i should sell it while i still can. I dont see the point though. If i did Id just want to go buy another, atleast with my car now I know what i got. My floors and frame are good. Im having some problems with the roof with the body work, but anything can be fixed. It just wouldnt be productive to sell it, then go buy another and find out its more work than what the one i had before would be.

Family says its not worth the money. I just think what does worth mean? If im gonna put all this work into it. What the hell would be the point in selling it be. I got the car I wanted, and now i got to sell it while I still can? If people are offering decent money now, it will only go up, in older cars.

Besides everyone always loses money. Should I not buy a new car, because it wont be worth as much next year.

Sorry for the rant, but the family's bugging the sh*t out of me lately.

I get 15-17mpg city in my V8 g body, and 18-20 mpg city in my 4 cyl Nissan truck. The Chevy 355 makes 350-360hp according to a sim program, and a Comp Cams demo engine that is virtually identical. The Frontier's 2.4 liter DOHC 4 makes 143hp (new) , and the truck is not much lighter than a G body. Even when it was running pig rich and belching black smoke, the 355 was never worse than 12mpg.

personally there is no amount that would get me to sell my car. only because it is the first father/son project my dad and i have ever finished. i hope to keep the car around as long as i can

I get 27mpg in my car. 98 Grand Prix GTP.

Oh, my cutlass gets like 12. 😀 But I would never sell it. I get offers all the time. Not going to happen. Not even if gas was 8 dollars a gallon. Thats why I have a fuel efficent car for daily driving, and my gas guzzler for fun.

I can't see getting 6 or 7 mpg in a 68 Mustang or a Gbody if its a street car. A dedicated race car that you dilute your race fuel with some gas and rump over to the local car show sure but a driver? A street car that you actually put miles with a comma in every year how is it setup that you only get 6 mpg unless you WOT & burn tires on every commute. Sounds like a fuel bill and combo that takes more maintenence than I could afford.

Exactly, I run WOT as much as possible. Of course I get better mileage than 6 or 7mpg, but I drive it to have fun, not to save gas. Thats what the GTP is for. 😀
