Here's the original oddball Citroen---the 2CV. It has a 425-607cc engine with 2 cylinders, a distributorless ignition, and a number of other "unique" features. The original design specs were that it be able to transport two French peasants across a plowed field with a basket of eggs, and not break any. Because of this, the suspension is a work of engineering art. The British built a variant of it called the Hydrolastic system, but it is not quite the same.

Yes, but the Taurus does not come close to the level of that awful Citroen. It's the car that brings ugly to a whole different level. Next to it, the AMC Pacer belongs in an art museum.

Here's another ugly European I found. This is from the brochure when it was new, and I found it funny.
