Whats this "barn find" worth?

Also, im going to add this. UNLESS there are yearly tag or MVI slips that list mileage, or oil change work orders going back 30 years, I don't trust mileage...

And never on "barn finds."

My first g body was a 1983 regal I put up to store in 1999, original interior looked like new when I did lacquer shined without cracks, and still does. It had 160k on it. Only saw a couple winters since new as well.

Gbodies that were taken care of wore well on the interior. You could sell mine for 60k and nobody would tell the difference - above, beneath, or inside.

With this car, I don't know if I believe the 44k to 66k original....

But I guarantee, those last 26k miles were the hardest, the most beat to crap thrashing, that poor car had in its life.

Also, fyi, plan on a timing gear/chain replacement as your first maintenance if you buy it.

What's lurking under the vinyl top? That alone leads me to propose $400.

I have a welder and have previously bagged an S10 some years ago.

Get the front put back together and get the thing running again (I personally know that it ran good before)
"Cheap" Paint Job
Bag setup bought individually (no kit)
Rims/tires
Stereo (I can build a trunk setup and glue fabric to it)
Interior is real nice, minus some fading and a falling headliner....which is an easy fix.

I would hope to get some money back out of the original rims? They have the rings and center caps to them still.

Ultimately, I want a bagged cruiser for about 5k (mostly DIY).
The clean interior and low miles is what is attractive to me.

That then is very cool. I see where you are coming from
Nice

Many thanks for all the info and help.

I was there when we first saw the car, I do think the miles are honest.

Unfortunately, I also think you are right about the last 26K 🙁 I just didn't have the funds at the time to get it before him.

I will report back with my findings via your info. Thanks again.

Edit: Im in the midwest.
