What’s this hole for?

All jokes aside, what is this hole in the firewall for? I’m looking at the hole that’s to the right of the steering shaft in the first picture. Second picture is from the interior. Previous owner had an amp wire coming through it and covered it with a piece of duct tape. You know, because that’s water tight and all. It looks like there may have been a plug or gromet in it at one point. If anyone knows for certain what’s supposed to go through there or even a part number for what fits in there to seal it, I’d appreciate it.

Thanks for the quick responses. Now to find something to plug it with, not going to run cruise.
 
I think the clutch pushrod also goes through that hole on manual cars.

Thanks for the quick responses. Now to find something to plug it with, not going to run cruise.
i recently filled in my hole 😗with a grommet,i had to use some lube to get it to submit but it came out nice,i have an extra one,you're welcome to it.
