Wheel Spacers

would it be too much width if i wanted to put 1" spacers on my back wheels. Its not because I have rubbing issues, i just want widen the track of the car. would it have too much strain on the suspension?

well i got z28 wheels so im getting 1 inch spacers all the way around and im thinking bout buying them off ebay.
