wheel weights, opinions?

Sorry I forgot to mention that I once owned a static bubble balancer.AfterI would level it up and center the bubble, arrange the weights after placing the wheel on the centering cone until the bubble was again centered, and hammering the weights on, that if I simply moved the tire onto a different position the bubble would then show an imbalance. We could speculate on possible reasons for this-but the bottom line is I quit balancing wheels, and have never looked back.

My wheels are plasti-dipped, so a clamp on weight on the outside would peel the dip right off. I have all four corners with a clamp-on weight on the inside and haven't had a problem.

Just a few remarks on some responses related to my wheel weight posting. To williamttop,i'm like you--I don't know everything either, but we can all,I imagine, enjoy learning some things and maybe bat the ball around sometimes.O.K.-I guess I > am < too adamant at times--and thanks,79loserbluebu ,for your technical and thoughtful response. If customers want a more precise balance and they can be given one--why not? Not like it breaks the bank.I'M pretty sure we have more important issues to deal with..I know I do.
