10 Lbs of Rottweiler poo in an Amazon box, ended our "Porch Pirate " Problem. Haven't had a package taken since.View attachment 101744
The example I saw was "while driving" and "caused an accident".
(Not that I agree with it whatsoever)

I love it when the Bad Guys get an attitude when they get punked.
Except FedEx and UPS and OUR USPS carrier apparently didn't read the memo. And it's not like you can be home all the time. UPS' delivery schedule is "sometime between 2 and 6 pm" and this is AT BEST. I've had them ring the door bell at 8 pm sometimes dropping off a package. Or if something arrived earlier than promised. I'm expecting a package Tuesday, so on Monday I think it's fine to go uptown to the store and when I get home, there's a package waiting for me. Sure, it's great getting it a day earlier than expected, but you can't always be home when the delivery service comes by.Here's how you intelligently prevent theft. Ready? DON'T LEAVE ANY F@CKING PACKAGES IF NO ONE IS HOME!!!!! I see a package theft story every day on TV and I laugh my *ss off. I did Parcel Post for my last 20 years and if no one was home I left a 3849 notice. You can call for redelivery at your convenience or take it in to the PO to claim your item. My moron boss wanted me to just leave stuff but when I asked her if she would put that in writing so if anything got stolen I would be in the clear and she said NO! So I carried a big stack of 3849's and left so many notices the Registry was piled from floor to ceiling with parcels. But NONE were stolen. Oh, and when idiot companies like Amazoom had "Carrier leave if no response" printed on the address label I used my handy Majik Marker to write " UNSAFE TO LEAVE" and left a notice. EZPZ
Bottom line- there's always a risk of a package being left exposed. I'll never feel sorry for a trespassing thief if they get glitter bombed/fart sprayed.
