Now she knows why dad's clothes are all covered in tiny burn holes
I like how over time you realize how much spatter burn you can tolerate to get the job done.

I have a 5 year old that knows most car brand logos, shocks the hell out of the Ferrari guys at the cars by knowing which ones they are, knows the difference between Cobra roadsters & Daytona coupes. Best is he knows the make/model/color inside & out/number of cylinders in the engine with my Monte. He just loves to be in the garage with me, going to shows, & swap meets (cause he knows he coming home with new Hot Wheels 🙂).

My son Wil was like that when he was little. He learned how to read first from car logos, then to car names and then to car specifications and not sesame street. It definitely starts early.

He keeps eyeing up a orange '85 Fiero at a used car lot by my work & keeps asking whe I'm buying it for him.

Tell him you are holding out for the '88 with the Lotus suspension.

That works until they figure out how to use Craigslist, then they constantly bug you about cars you "NEED!" to buy.

I guess I did the same thing 35 years ago to my dad with "Hemmings Motor News".

When Lauren was little we were at a swap meet and I lost site of her wile I was paying for something. In my panic I found her sitting in the drivers seat of a green 69 firebird 400 4sp convertible. When I went to her she was rocking the wheel back and forth and said Daddy we need this! Good thing the guy selling it was a father himself and had a good sense of humor
