i'll be the first to admit i dont know much about rears... so, why has my one legger monte started laying dual strips like its posi... when i had the 305 in her i am pretty sure she only spun the rear passenger tire, but since i put in the mildly built 350sbc everytime i stab the gas she leaves some killer posi strips... so what gives???

Start saving for a rear end swap. What happens is when ya do several one wheel burn outs the spider gears start welding themselves to the pinion pin. Then the axl gears cannot walk around the spider gears because they arnt spinning freely. this is why it burns 2 WHEELS. U will have to cut the pinion pin out with the torch.

What ^^^he said. My original 7.5 did something similiar to this. That pinion pin is a big enough pain in the dick by itself with the bolt breaking. Once it gets this bad good freaking luck man!

An open differential can leave posi marks but it won't hold them. Your bigger engine is putting more torque to the differential. As it spins it tightens around it and causes it to hook both tires but it will let go and go back to one after so long.
