My Hell NO!!! Was an attempt at sarcasm.....

Noted.

I say generic because its a corporate engine and every gm has them and I've even seen them in suburus and who knows what else. I would like to have an LSx for the reasons mentioned. But almost every car now days has one. To me its not as cool to have the same as everyone else. It's nice to be different and stand out. Just bolt in whatever motor you want or can afford and who cares what everyone else thinks.

Damn Right!! Different is good. I'm not saying the ls is a piss poor engine by any means. In case anyone forgot, hot rodding is not just about speed but also individuality. Whats the fun in having the same basic engine (LS or SBC) as most every one else. Dare to be different.

Plus: It's cool to be able to say "Yeah, it's got a 455 in it!"

I think I need to go to some car shows that you are all going to! Every cruise night I hit up during the warmer season 90% of the time I'm the only LS swapped car there. It always grabs looks no matter where it goes even with the rough paint and S10 wheels on it. The swap is not a cheap one. You'll either spend a little money and a lot of time, a lot of money and a little time, or a combination of both. Depends on your skill and budget whether or not your swap will be successful or not.

That being said, I'll keep on the bus these engines are way too fun to be outed based on their technology and far limits compared to older engines. I can't wait for my next swap, I have most of the parts needed and I'm really thinking a turbo Buick would be the next canidate

Go on the power tour man there everywhere

I think the thing im more tired of seeing than LS engines is magazines building cars with what seems like an unlimited amount of money. Its cool to see an old POS get turned into an award winning show car but come on! Most of us building cars arent made of money and I for one would love to see them build a car with A REAL BUDGET instead of claiming to finding all these very expensive parts in junkyards. The LS engines are f%@king amazing but I would rather see an old big block Oldsmobile being retrofitted with fuel injection than another SBC or LS swap like that article with the Pontiac 2+2 with the Escalade LS engine, that killed that build for me. And RITTER please explain the Vortec head thing

LSx engines are anything but generic  If any engine on here would be considered "generic" it would be a generation I SBC. How is an aluminum block 6 bolt main aluminum headed engine that has been pushed over 1000hp with stock internals, generic :?:
:blam:
Y'all might not like them ... or get tired of hearing about them (for whatever reason) ... fact is, there is not an engine out there that responds to upgrades like an LSx engine :!:

I would probably venture out to say that people that have "hatred" for an LSx engine, is jealous of them, wants one, but probably can't afford to do it  Just my 2 cents there. I don't have an LSx engine setup in anything (because I can't afford it) but if it were up to me, I would put one in every car I owned
Whoa there grumpy. I completely understand the ls. Its awesome. Just like things that are different.

I agree with you RITTER. As far as being different though, it has all been done, ALL OF IT has been done. At least what is affordable by most people. I know chevy engines are in everything and I don't mind seeing them in everything, I like them for a million reasons. I have owned three oldsmobile engines, 260,350 and 455. Loved messing around with the 455 but I will never build one again. I have much more fun with the cash I save building a sbc. I can still make the car my own and make it unique. In the end it is my car. If I want to take the common approach or do something far out, who cares?

Nullshine, are you truely that ignorant that you really don't understand why others don't feel the need to have the latest and greatest engine in their older cars? Is that what cars are ALL about? Having the latest and greatest mill in their cars? I don't think so. But I can tell by the tone of your posts, you seem to have it all figured out and everybody else is wrong, so there's really no point in trying to help you understand why others don't feel like that.

P.S. Does anyone else notice how it seems that the die hard LS guys think they're superior to those with older engines as if they themselves have anything to do with the performance capabilities with the engine? It's like 'Ha, your cars are all slow! My stock LS engine and I can run circles around your older modified car! That means I'm better than you!'. Don't understand where their big egos come from.

lol i thought this was like a jack-*ss stunt, like jumping off a ls powered wagon into a bush or some thing... i dont have any ls experiences so ill leave my statement as is...

I agree 1000%. If you notice in any of the LS articles they have, the first thing they do is bolt on a FAST 102 intake and TB. Because we all have $1200 to spend on a plastic intake after an LS swap
