Wiring Connectors needed

There are about a dozen bolts underneath to unbolt with one also being under the battery tray. I have removed several inner fenders from Montes they are the easiest G body inner fender to remove IMO. It looks like most of the connectors are already disconnected, you will have to remove the connector at the transmission and if it is still hooked up there is a ground wire at the rear of the pass side head. The connector for the transmission is for the lockup function but since you don't have an ECM that is not working anyway.
The two connectors in the pic can be disconnected and pulled through also, they are for a couple of sensors but I don't remeber wich ones off the top of my head. Just take it one step at a time and the whole harness will come right out. Remeber the grommet gets pushed from the inside out, I made that mistake my first time pulling a harness also.

I got the wheel well out along with the grommet and pulled the 2 connectors through. I traced each wire back and removed all but 1. For this wire goes to the other connector(s) in the kick panel that are still connected and trace back to the dash I think. In the engine, this wire goes to the connector in pic2 next to the AC wiring. It leads behind the engine and routes under the distributor and goes somewhere on the left side of the engine in some conduit. Its hard to trace down exactly what it goes to. But knowing that this connector has 2 wires, one peach and black and one black (that went to a disconnected connector) I don't think its important. Any idea as to what this went to?
It might have been the oil pressure sender shown in pic1. But since my oil pressure gauge don't work anyway, I am getting a new aftermarket gauge for that.

I just want to make sure I don't have a problem when I try to start it up this spring.

The previous post asked what the black box is on the wheel well: It is the Map and vacuum sensor. Both go to the ECM.

The top pic is of the oil pressure sending unit, it should have a round plug that fits on top of it, wiring comes from the fuseblock. If your carb has an electric choke I would hook the top one back up and put the sending unit for the aftermarket gauge down by the oil filter.
The second pic shows the square plug for the blower fan, the peach and black wire/connector looks to be too new for the car, possibly added in sometime. I would disconnect it since I don't believe it does anything. All the wires to make your engine start come from the fusebox.

The one wire that goes back into the dash is likely the power for the ECM, I'll have to dig up my wiring manual to be sure.

Many people pull the ECM out, I personally don't mind it in the car. You can use the ECM on engines such as the chevy 400 and Olds 403 with no problem other than a prom change.
People also seem to jump to the conclusion that if there is any problem with how the car runs it is the ECM's issue and don't want to fix it right or at all.
Grandprixpaul start a new post on what problems you are having I'm sure you will get some help.

I will pull all the wires through the ecm grommet today. I will disconnect remaining connector under kick panel. I will disconnect peach wire plug(no this wasn't new, just got cleaned  ). I will connect the oil pressure sender back up (this is a chore, you can see I bent the prong over, no room). I don't think I have an electric choke, it's a quadrajet with no wires only mechanical linkage and vacuum hoses.
Yeah, the ecm was MIA when I picked this monte up in 05. Having the half *ss wiring job was par for the course for this guy. He had a cinder block behind the front seat to keep it upright, no floor board, no seat bracket. I bought the car for 650, worked on it for 4 years straight, I think I should have a nice rate of return but this one is going to my son. You see, he's 10 now and I got 6 years to have this as my daily driver. Wife thinks its a mid life thing wanting the first car you ever owned. Me, I just want your standard ride, no computer, no sensors, no headaches. Plus I love the Monte G body. Who knows, maybe they will become like the Camaros, Mustangs and Chargers and come out with a modern retro model......naw that's ok, they would probably have computers.
thanks to all who chimed in. Jeff, you're the man.
I got to go, the front end parts just got here. Gota start that next.
