I want just the basics too, although I may want to resurect the ac, this car is going to be a summer car. I'm taking the motor out of my 80 malibu which turned into a nightmare with rust. I have all the parts on my 80 that I need to put this on the road except for a few lights.

It's a NC car and underneath it has no rot just some light surface rust so I'm pretty pumped.

I,ve stripped the interior out because the carpet was wet and had some rust holes in the floorboards, this is minor I dont think it needs pans just patches

Doesn't look like it needs pans at all...floors look pretty good. You should be able to patch what you need to.

Is this the one you posted about a while back? Were you able to move him off his asking price? you say you need a few lights...which ones I've got some extra stuff here. (I'm in Regina SK)

Ya I bought it, just couldn't resist all that metal was just beutifull.. I need the rear lights the ones in the bumper, and the two side rear lights. I didn't pay him 2999 for it but I didn't get it for 2k either.. Just couldn't find a car without hidden rot up here, lot of cars looked good till you looked underneath then it was OMG..

This was a fun time extracting this...

Cleans up a huge mess

Yeah it's tuff to find rust free stuff up here. By the look of that wiring mess I'm glad all mine are pre computer...lol.

I know I've got the extra rear side lights here...may even have an extra set of tailights. I'll have a look this weekend and shoot you a PM.

That wad of electrical mess you have there that comes through the grommet in the firewall is all the ECM wiring. The harness hooks up to sensors on the engine and the feedback carburetor. If you’re not going to use an injected motor in the car, you can fill the big hole with a rubber plug similar to what they use in the doors if you don’t get power windows and locks.

Unless you just love the smell of raw gas and unburned hydrocarbons, I’m not sure why anyone would use a controlled leak for a fuel system these days. Injection is so inexpensive, runs regardless of the weather conditions and if you buy the parts used, costs less than a new Holley. I’d guess you can get a used throttle body set up for a small block complete for less than two hundred bucks. You can buy a used Tuned Port for not much more than that.

Youse guys with carburetors, don't be sending me a bunch of hate mail. If you like jets and leaks, accelerator pumps and a different running car every day of the week depending on the weather, that's totally up to you. ...Just sayin. ... :blah:

If you are planning to run a carburetor, the harness is stand alone from the forward lamp harness or the ECM harness. AC wires amount to a white, light green, orange and tan wire that exits underneath of the blower box (photo) along with a couple of vacuum lines, purple and white. You can see the grommet for the ECM wires in the background.

Thx for the picture I have the AC wires still, the motor I'm using has a carb setup so I don't need any of the other stuff. I know so little about this stuff I need to keep it as simple as it gets lol

Let me know if you dig those up..
