For rebuilt heads, the price is pretty good, you got to remember, your rebuilding the 307, and with rebuilt heads you know everything is good and you can pop them right on and be done. If you were rebuilding a 350, then Id say go for monte olracs heads, I wouldnt do a 305 headed 350 ever, I had one come with a car before, it was slow as a turd.
i actually called the guy yesterday at werk and he said noone was asking about them, so maybe i can talk him down from 300 to 250 or less. imma go get em on thursday. today my adventure is: get an alternader for my saturn. finnally cashed my check today and have enough to get the heads and alternader and a lil left over for beer and smokes, maybe food... :lol:
talking to a neighbor today about him selling his saturn, he told me whats wrong with it and said hed sell it for a hundo! well imma buy that car, fix it up and sell it to buy more parts for my elky. now i just gotta wait for my new bare foot pedal to show up at werk.
well thursday i got the heads after getting lost for a good 45 minutes. they look real good and i cant wait to put the thing together. imma have to read up on the best way to seal up the engine and get some new pushrods to replace the old ones. im thinkin the old ones will have to go. still gotta look for some 1.6 roller rockers to let the engine get more air. after i get all that done i still have to fix the break light prob and get some new hoses for the carb to trans vacume, and figure out how to hook up and adjust the detent cable. THEN, i gotta get a windsheild whiper motor and then figure out how to wire the birdsnest i got in there. also plate stickers, then i think thats it. so far so good. anyone wanna chime in?
i did get the heads in today, but i need to sand and paint my headers so they dont rust. i still need new pushrods and need to find some 1.6 rockers. the heads went in really well, there just damn heavy to put them in buy myself. im gonna buy the saturn hopefully this weekend and start to fix it up so i can get at least 2k for it. then that money will go to the elky. and the process continues...
well i found out kbb.com says the saturn that i bought is worth $3,610 and im selling it for 3k obo. so far no bites, so imma have to see if i lower it if ill get more hits than just craigslist scammers. if i dont get rid of it by the end of the month ill have to get the title in my name, new plates, and pass emissions. becides that i still have to get new tires for the damn thing. i thought it would sell fast because its only got 57k miles and gets 35+ mpg and manual trans. i need to sell this thing so i can get parts i want sooner than later. this is poop :?
update: well im still waiting to sell my satty so i can get new pushrods,roller rockers and alll new bushing. and if theres any leftover $$ imma see if i can get some suspention and rims. 8) oh and for all you youngins out there this is what a barefoot pedal looks like.
well today i had a buyer come out from indiana to look at my car and drive it around. they said they'll get a trailer to haul it away tommarrow for 2100 bucks. **** YEAH! then all that monies is going toward getting this elky road worthy. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE buy my car!!!!!! cross yer fingers ppl, imma need it... 😀
