Jack, even with a stock hood there is still a low pressure area between the windshield and the end of the hood. Next time you on the highway when it's raining watch the water get sucked in when the drop on the hood near the windshield. I am building a cold air box that will help suck in the cooler air from that area and keep the hot are from the engine bay away from the air filter. I don't want to put any scoop on my car but I am thinking about a fiberglass hood that is raised a bit and has a slight downward slope to the rear do the hood to increase the low pressure area.

Steve,
I'm aware of the the low pressure area between the windshield and the hood. Wouldn't the firewall to hood seal on the cowl block the air flow?

You'll have to post some pics of the cold air box when you're constructing it. Do they make such as hood as you described, or will you have to modify an aftermarket fiberglass hood?

I removed a portion of the seal to allow the air to travel into the engine compartment. I'm trying to find an airbox from a race car that I can adjust to fit. They are not cheap so I'm waiting on finding a used one from ane of the teams I can talk them out of...

Scott,
Your exhaust system is laid out pretty much like mine, only yours appears to have been done nicer. Were you thinking of adding additional brackets to hold the pipes up? I'd have to look at mine again. I haven't been under the car in some time, aside from bolting and unbolting my bumpers.
I also like the pipes exiting behind the rear wheels. Although it does look good exiting out below the bumper. But I hear wagons are more susceptible to exhaust fumes entering thru the rear hatch of the car.
My exhaust system was done more than 20 yrs ago, believe it or not. When I lived in NY, most shops at the time did not want to do duals. I think it had something to do with compliance at the time. No catalytic converters, plus not being able to pass inspection.
They did the bologna cut at the ends, but I added tips to exit out further past the body.

Wow!! Your car looked very much like mine, especially with the SS air dam...and being all white. My last paint job was a Maaco special. It looked pretty good for a number of years until the paint started flaking and going dead. I also had a few rust areas that needed attention...including my doors, fenders, rad support.

I am kinda partial to the pipes exiting behind the rear tire also. I just added a couple of chrome tips.

Unfortunately, nothing worthwhile to report, Ed.
The last things I did recently was to paint my steel wheels body color. I still need to add some new rubber to the equation.
I got the rear door glass and vent windows installed. I had been waiting on the window run channel. I would like to finish the front door glass, but there's some discrepancies with the front run channel...which has put me in a stalemate.
I still have to install a new windshield and re-install the quarter window glass.
I would also like to paint my replacement dash, and get that installed. As you see, there's no shortage of tasks that need to be performed.
I hope to make some more headway soon, and take more pics in progress.
