Wrench size question.

Yeah, I was thinking of just flattening the ends. It looks like it would be really close to fitting as is.

OK, so I got the rear sway bar and the GP brace today. But the sway bar bolts were to rusty, and I couldn't get the two front ones out (the car had no springs in the rear, so the suspension was all the way compressed). So I'm gonna need new bolts. What do you recommend? I have Edelbrock trailing arms (if that make any difference).

Also, for the GP brace (my buddy removed that for me) will the bolts that my jounce bars are bolted to be good enough. Or will I need something longer?

When you make the trip to seven persons I want to see those bars and braces.... We can wire wheel them and make em pretty or use that rust electrolysis method I'm dyin to try.... 🙂

Yeah you can see al the bracing I have. I have every factory brace up front except for the early Monte Carlo bars for under the hood. I still need the body mound stuff, the 'X' bars for the trunk, and then a trailer hitch and I'll have them all.

Make sure they're grade 8 or the metric equivalent.

the grade is a standard for metric or standard thread bolts, washers and nuts
no, a standard grade 8 would be a metric 10.9. grade 5 is metric 8.8.

really?....I don't know where you got your info from but up here Canada uses the metric system and I went to purchase the metric bolts for the body bushing and I had the option of grade 8 or grade 10.... there is a metric conversion for the tensile strength of bolts but I was giving the answer in practice terms as the metric measured tensile bolts are not yet in the common market..perhaps you don't live in the common world tho..
ummm...working for a fastener distributor for 10 years is where i got my information. SAE grade 8 is the equivilant to metric 10.9, SAE grade 5 is the equivilant to metric 8.8. by offering you the grade 8 or 10, they were just calling 8.8 and 10.9, 8 and 10 for short. get your info straight before you try correcting someone.

Also, if it has the trunk braces I'm gonna get those too. Are they hard to get off? And what size bolts would those have?
theyre not bolted in, they are welded. youll need a drill to drill out the spot welds.

The two 'X' braces are welded in? My car already has the one that is welded in. I mean the ones that are made up of two seperate bars that cross each other. I know the GPs had them.
i didnt know they had x braces in the trunk, ive never seen any. all i knew of was the back seat brace, which is what i was talking about.
