Hello all, I've done a search here but nothing came up on this company. The short version is this: SPPrecision.com is having a sale and their XP1 4L65e transmission is just over $2k with a new "performance" converter. People over at LS1Tech.com as well as PerformanceTrucks.com have great things to say, and even Cunningham Motorsports uses their automatics though they build their own manual boxes... at least that was the case when the thread was made. I've emailed the company with questions regarding other performance levels, core trade ins, and the included converter. Their 4L80 is on sale too....

Does anyone here have personal experience with this company and their transmissions? Maybe a friend has one?

My other choice is an RPM Transmission and Speed Inc has the "Level 4" at $2,500. RPM builds excellent units but I'm enticed by the XP1 so any and all input is appreciated.

I've got a 4L65e core and tons of performance parts for it to go in my '04 Sierra but a direct bolt-in would be much quicker and avoid confusion with the builder: my trans mods would require a $600 DiabLew tune for the truck, and it would be a cinch to go full manual with it the Cutlass or El Camino instead. I'm considering buying one for the truck that won't require a tune but could use one later, and saving what I've got. Thoughts?

Keeping in mind that "Levels" listed are just sales jargon and equate to nothing, as the parts are what counts.

Nothing, huh? I'll report back when they respond to my email.

Never heard of them, but that doesn't mean much.

I hadn't either until now, and there are multiple bad reviews but those sound like they're for a general mechanic shop, not a transmission remanufacturer. Their lack of response to my email doesn't bode well though, and the ambiguous wording on their website gives me pause.

At this point I've given up on Xtreme Performance, as they never responded to me reaching out.

I was also interested in the Aces Quick Draw standalone controller but they don't respond to emails, Facebook, or on YouTube either.

I guess those are two companies I'll be avoiding.

Sounds like a good choice based on the lack of follow-up communication.

Even worse, MONSTER transmissions.... avoid at all costs.

Not that ever had one of their units... but most of the negative reviews should have been enough to put them out of buisness.

I'm not sure exactly if you're looking for a 4l60-80 but I've had good luck with Extreme Automatics outta Ohio and they carry both..
Thanks for the recommendation, I've heard nothing but the best about Extreme Automatics. Even other reputable builders brag on them so I need to double check their prices. I'm looking for a 4L65 and know good ones are over 2k with performance units fetching more, and thought I'd found a deal. I've got 2k in parts already and the builder wants to start at $1500 and go from there on a custom build, and it would require a $600 tune bringing the total to over 4k. The drop-off didn't go right last summer and we haven't talked since, though I'm sure there's no bad blood. He didn't seem to be the type who'd want to build a transmission to someone else's specs either and I don't necessarily blame him. RPM isn't terrible at $2500 and Finish Line will be $3k, but I can't swing that and also make the moves I'm trying to pull off. I was hoping to come out of this with a "spare" transmission to put into the Cutlass or Elk so long as that approach was cheaper than building what I've got.

I can't tell you how many negative reviews I've read about their products. Coming up with the name, logo, and advertising is apparently all they're good at. The same absolutely goes for B&M, and I'm not a fan of Hughes or TCI either. You'd have to pay me to run a converter from any of them.

I ran a Hughes converter for years and never had a problem. It flashed and stalled exactly where it was supposed to. It worked extremely well. This was many years ago mind you, it’s entirely possible (probable?) that the quality has changed since then.
