I got the battery hooked up and actually cranked it over a little bit before the loose battery terminal cut my power. The motor sounded healthy enough, but I have no idea if it is a 231 or a 229. I think I have everything to put it back together except the AC compressor and countless bits of bracketry.
I did find a couple spots of rust on the hood bracing where it holds up the insulation and a body mount bolt that is broke, but other than that the body is clean.
