Your Favorite Tools

I’m partial to my old strap on bit driver set.

Working on cars it is a printed detailed shop manual. Yes I am old school that I like to hold and read a book that I can right notes in for the next time I do the job. The notes are as valuable as the book. I accept but dislike the manuals online just for the reason that I want to look at a page and read it as I work. I care if greece gets on my laptop, tablet or phone. I could care less if it gets on a book as long as it is still readable. I can print pages but it is not the same as a bound copy.

Second best tool if a good flashlight. With the better LEDs I stopped using my trouble light. I have a LED light that hooks on one of my power tool batteries and goes the hole day. Somehow there is always a need for more light.

My hydraulic flaring tool. Not something you use every day but invaluable when you need it....

Currently right now, it's actually a pair of Duluth work pants. Built in pockets for knee pads, positioned correctly and well thought out. Removable knee pad inserts for laundering reasons. They are a bit pricey but worth it thus far. Certainly beats wearing knee pads all day, between not staying in position, sweaty legs or cutting off circulation because of having to get the knee pads tight enough to stay in place.

Hands down my four favorite tools. Three Snap On ratchets and my old dependable Ingersol Rand IR231 1/2" impact gun.

The stubby 3/8" ratchets has holes for extensions. Comes in very handy.

This is my newest favorite tool I bought from HF a couple weeks ago, this works great for those odd spots like pulling cotter pins from my trans linkage.
Plus it is spring loaded ,

Thats pretty funny. I just bought one of those myself. Used it a few times since I got it. The price was right.
A few months ago I needed a pair of needle nose pliers to do something on my truck. I had a couple of old Craftsmans and a pair of bent nose SnapOn. All three were in about the same hammered condition. Went to HD and Lowes. Didnt see anything I liked. Tried Tractor Supply. Same. In the end I bought 3 pair of long needle nose from Autozone, that pair you have and a 45 and 90 from HF. Not expensive but for the amount of times I'll use them they should last for quite a long time.
Plus I like the blue handles. LOL

Those just came in handy again helping remove all the hog rings holding my upholstery on my Regal's rear seat.

My little Map gas Oxy torch. Its great for freeing frozen fasteners in tight spaces. Also great unlit for finding vacuum leaks with the smaller nozzle.
