I have a issue with my drivers side door that i am trying to fix...
The upper hinge roller is broken and the door kind of sags a bit i went to autozone to try to pick up a hinge repair kit but the hinges or bushings dont seem to be able to repair it. I was going to buy one but its kind of of expensive. so is there a way to replace the roller or should i get a used one from the junkyard? Do hinges from any 2-4 door g-body fit? i was going to just jack up the door and adjust it but i figure i should fix it right the first time.Is there a replacement roller? Thanks

Buy a used pair from the boneyard, then buy another pin and bushing kit and rebuild them. Then you'll be good as new.

I think the 2 dr. and 4 dr. hinges are different, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

they are different if i remember correctly.

if you buy used buy the nicest ones you can find. then after you get them clean them strip them of paint and sand till you see no rust anywhere. then put in the new bushings and pins, then use self etching primer and then a nice thin coat or two of your body color and viola, ready to go.

i bought new ones for my car and yeah they cost more but i couldnt be happier.

problem with used ones is the bushings can wear out and you cant tell the hole for the bushing has been elongated until you get it off the car. thats why i bought new ones. i might buy another new pair just to ensure i have them in case i ever need them unless i find a really nice set at the junkyard.

Update: i just replaced the door hinges on the drivers side door. I found some off a 81 4door regal. i pulled the them off as most of the 2dr g bodys had the door hinges really shot even worse than the ones on my car. I redid the hinge bushings even though they were in really good shape. Obviously the 4dr car doors are not as heavy and they were exactly the same. I pulled the upper and lower for only 10 bucks plus another 10 or so for the pins and bushings. I rebuilt them at work during my lunch and they kind of were a pain in the *ss. But my door is a ALOT better but its a little in on the top near the b pillar and out on the bottom. So i am going to mess with it some more to see if i can get it aligned better. Just trying to let you know that both 2&4 door Gbody's use the same door hinges up front..
