I'm going to tackle rebuilding the C100 Engine Harness. Here's how I go about it.

I start with studying the 87 Service Manual and documenting the stock wire length so I know what my starting with. This may be an "on again/off again" process as I gather the parts I need and order wire.

Let's call this Part 1

In the Service Manual is a conversion chart from Metric to AWG (all wire sizes are shown in metric in the manual)

I get all the plastic conduit off and start measuring wires one circuit at a time.

Tried looking up that drive shaft loop but couldn’t find it on their website.
Hmm, I see that too. If you really want one try searching "gbody driveshaft loop" and look at "images". There's a bunch of styles and companies to choose from.

John’s OCD makes mine look like I’m a three year old toddler with ADHD. Super clean work as usual sir.

I'd see the marker & parking lights being the biggest challenge on the rebuild unless those are still in good serviceable condition. Then if you're going at this you might want to takle the front to rear harness & get rid of those aluminum wires. I'm glad I did,

Wait until I get to bodywork and paint. I'm going to look like a monkey humping a football.

Wiring Harness catch up post.

With all the wiring measured, I turn to how I want the wire to run under the hood. I want to hide the harness somewhat so it's not distracting from the engine.

I decide to run the harness behind the inner fender and out the opening where the horns mount and in front of the battery.

I'll run the Coolant Temp, Oil Press, and Alt connectors up from the frame behind the P/S Pump and bracket. I use a bunch of bulk red wire to extend the harness where I need to. I tape it to the original so I can get accurate measurements when I order my new wire.

I run the A/C Power wire under the core support top over to the other side of the car.

On the passenger side I'll run the line behind the inner fender as well. There's an opening in front and at the back where the power antenna wires are.

All that's left is the Comp Connector. I'll run that from the frame up the back of the bracket to the front clutch connection.

Nice Hutch! I need to do the same thing for my '70 and eventually for the silver car. It looks so nice when wires are dressed nicely and even better when hidden and dressed nicely.

I start going through all the parts I gathered over the past months including the last runs of wire to finish off the build.

All told, that pile of wire, connectors, aptiv metri-pack pins, conduit, heat shrink, and tape came out to just north of $455. Yikes!

I was just watching that series of videos this morning again as I just received my order of wire based off all that great information and effort you put together. Can’t tell you enough how appreciative I am to have those videos to get the confidence to dive into those projects. Thanks… and I love your t shirt shop I’ve bought several!
