It is now ready for some clear coat. I didn't do all the painting my coworker Shawn did the majority, I did the strips and other components. The car looks awesome out in the sunlight . Painted the black pieces. Now need to put the car all back together.

Its all back together after a little polishing. Still enough time left in the summer for one car show. It got some good attention at the car show. Winter is coming too quickly :x

Damn! That looks great! I always wanted to buy an 83 or 84 H/O and build a car I think Oldsmobile should have built but keep it looking like something that would have rolled off the showroom so the purists couldnt b*tch too much. The 455 is definatley in the plan. Awesome job

so now on to what I worked on over the winter. I wanted to work on the interior and freshen it up a little. The cheap looking wood grain was worn in some spots so I Decided to redo it all. I bought some real walnut veneer and cut the pieces out the place on top of the dash pieces. I Stained them and finished them to have a custom look.

I also noticed that my taillight had faded a little sitting in the sun for years so I took them out and used a candy red base coat on them and then cleared them. We found the intake had in internal vacuum leak so I pulled it out and blasted it to look new and also gasket matched the runners. I also added a little more shine to the engine.

my winter was not over yet so I decided to modify the carburetor a bit. the choke was taken out before i got the carb so we milled down the choke bowl and smoothed it out a bit. I also wanted to fill the area between the radiator support and the header panel because it always looked like it was missing something. So I made a few templates out of cardboard and transferred the shape to ABS plastic. I then heated and molded them to fit the shapes so i could put bolts in them. Then I painted them black.
