So dose anyone know what I should do with the vacuum lines? There's really no diagram for my home made application I remember I need to use the intake temp switch so the choke and air cleaner work correctly but I'm not shore how I think the trans gets full intake vacuum and the advance gets off idle vacuum from the carb but witch port is it? And then there's EGR and cruise control????

I'm thinking it's going to be a big weekend for this build I hit the auto parts store tonight got new cooler lines and brake fluid talked to the guy that has my trans and he said he is going to drop it off at my house in the morning so I dug up a 3 core radiator and gave it a spray bomb rebuild.
If the trans shows up I probably won't stop until I hear it run hell I may sleep in it tomorrow night so I can cut out the 45 minutes driving one way and get an early start lol my wife is going to want to kill me I better not

Nice. Since you're building a 78 W-31, here's my random 71 W-31 story. Way back in High school (84-5) there was a local dude with a 71 Cutlass, down the block from the school. (there were also two 70 442 post coupes one green with white painted top, a gold one which I later owned,
and the school secretary who owned the most perfect 68 442 ever, but I digress.) This particular 71 Cutlass was Viking blue, white side stripes, W25 hood, cutout bumper, buckets, Hurst shifter, full gauges , SS2's,and W-31 decals on the front fenders. We, being the most knowledgeable people on the planet (we were in high school) poo poo'ed the car feeling it was made up. After all there were no 71 W-31 cars. Fast forward to the mid 90's, my brother is building a 71 Cutlass convertible. He buys aforementioned 71 Cutlass which now looks like it was under the Titanic. Mucho bondo was under that blue enamel repaint. The guy also kept the hood, bumper, his/hers shifter and wheels. We considered it too far gone to save. In the process of disassembling it, I needed the gas tank for my 71 Skylark the rear window blew out of, and there it was on top of the tank. The build sheet. Listed all of the things on the car W25 Hood, cutout bumper, Hurst shifter, yadda, yadda. For the engine, W-31 was listed. So in 71 even with the compression cut, and the car would not have been labeled a W-31, there was apparently a 4 barrel 350 that was still option coded W-31. I know I have that build sheet somewhere with some 20+ year old tax return crap, I really need to look for it.

I hope I can remember how I wired the 6AL box and everything else. I am running straight water, I want to flush the system out anyways. I need to break the cam in for 20 minutes then change the oil. Almost everything is hooked up underneath but I still need to drop the fuel tank and change the sender so the gauge works again. Good luck, get it done.

I waited all morning for my transmission that was supposed to be dropped off at my house and it never showed up so I went there and was told oh it's on its way I'll bring it to your house as soon as it gets here so I figured I'd put it in tomorrow. The day was wasting and I wanted to get something done so I told my wife the trans was coming and let him put it in the garage.

Off to old bridge first thing I did was clean up. I couldn't stand looking at that 260 on the stand anymore so out with the old
IMG_20170603_143604282_HDR.jpg
i tossed it in the trunk of the parts car for safe keeping until I need something off of it
IMG_20170603_143543683_HDR.jpg
so after cleaning up and putting away tools I filled the motor with oil and zinc and drug the car back out of the yard pressure washed the engine bay and noticed that the firewall was cracked in the tunnel not surprised I've seen it in the passed only on early production cars I guess gm fixed the problem the early and late firewalls actually look different in the center anyway I did a quick fix here's some pictures
IMG_20170603_170713948_HDR.jpg
i ground it out with 24 to loose the rust

I etch primed the crack and just seam sealed it with a flexible paintable seam sealer and satin black

IMG_20170603_171852530.jpg
i then filled the master cylinder to find were the brakes were leaking and it turned out to be the master cylinder right out the back into the booster so I'll tacke that in the morning.

Anyway got home no trans no answer on his phone tomorrow morning I ma put it back together with the 200 I don't have much choice I'm running out of time
